The owner´s comments

La Casagran is situated in a privileged setting, at the crossroads between three transhumance routes and which was once the ancient royal route through the area. It is a very old building with the first records dating back to the 13th Century. It was originally used as a hostel for the transhumance and merchants that passed through here. From the 14th to 1728 Casagran was used as the Jury Council of Lluçanés. 

Today, the house has been fully restored, preserving its original structure and is an ideal place from which to discover the areas of Lluçanès, which is important for its Romanesque art, found throughout its towns and villages, especially in Oristà and Lluçà. Situated 20 km from Vic, an interesting tourist town because of its markets, museums, culture, etc…, 80 km from Barcelona and 70 km from the ski resorts. It is also a very good starting off point for excursions to Montserrat, Núria and Andorra.

There are several offers of transhumance routes that leave from the house. The first is an independent route and information can be obtained from a small book found in the bookshops in Lluçanès, or by email solc@pangea.org. The second option is for groups with a guide, contact Tel 938 508 281. The third possibility is with a guide and accommodation and the same telephone number can be contacted.

How to get there?

Address: Rexach - 08516  Olost,  Olost (Barcelona,  Catalonia)

- To reach La Casagran from Barcelona, take the C-17 (Barcelona-Puigcerdà) and at km. 60, take the exit 68-B, towards Prats de L. 
- Then after approximately 1 km you will find a road on the left, the C-154, towards Olost. 
- When you get to Olost turn right onto the C-154 towards Prats de Lluçanès. 
- At Santa Creu de Jutglar turn left and go up. 
- When you come to a crossroads, turn right and at the exit of the village, on the left of the road you will find La Casagran.
