Review about El Lance by Hemmelmann Jan
Lovely nice and comfortable house

We stayed 4 weeks in El Lance (12/3 - 12/4/2010) and enjoyed every day. The house is equipped with all you need, and Julio even organized special baby stuff for us like a baby cot, seat and tub. And the house even looks like on the pictures in reality, it has been refurbished with love to the detail. For example, there is radio in every room. In the garden uphill you find fruit trees (some newly planted and a grown up with wonderfully sweet fruits unknown to me) and herbs (besides the obligational cactus), and lots of salamanders. There is a quite usefull outdoor kitchen with fire place, we often celebrated cooking and barbecue with open fire there. You should bring indoor slippers for the house, the wooden floor can be quite slippy with socks. For lowlanders the drive to the house first is a bit scary, but later you will enjoy the 45° roller coaster slopes... Generally, if you get sick driving serpentines, Tenerife north is not the place you want to go. For getting around Julio provided us a TomTom navigation system, it helps the firts days to find back home to El Lance. The temperature in late March / early April '10 was around 16°, the first nights we felt cold and turned up the heater. The island has its special climate, often the northern hillside is in clouds, but the beaches are sunny. Temperature down at the beach of San Marcos usually was about 4° higher. Julio and his family is very nice and attentive, only the communication can be challenging if you barely speak spanish.
