Inside
- Cosy rooms with heating, flat screen TV, mini bar and modern bathrooms. The suites also have a fireplace, sofa and music in the bathroom. You will always find a welcome gift.
- Living room with small library, bar, music and television. It also has a fireplace that you can light yourself during the cold winter days. Free wifi.
- Dining room overlooking the garden.
- Games room with snooker, pool table, football table, darts, ping-pong, board games... or an artist corner for drawing and painting.

Outside
Sit on a park bench or a tree swing, while gazing at the river Neiva. Go fishing or take a swim in the river.
Listen to the chirping of birds, read a book, pick some fruit, or go to peek at the newborn chicks or ducklings.
You can play football on the grass or in a small foortball pitch, play basketball, badminton or ping-pong.
Enjoy the swimming pool and lay on a hammock in the sun or the shade of a beautiful chestnut tree. The pool is in total privacy.
On warmer days, breakfast can be served outdoors, beside a small fountain.

The owner´s comments

After a hectic professional life, traveling the world, housed in some of the best hotels and eating in the most sophisticated restaurants... I stopped... and looked at this piece of paradise, and tried to recreate my dream here.

At Casas do Rio you will find peace, tranquility, the chirping of birds or the murmur of the water, in a very nice and welcoming location.

In the rooms you will feel comfortable, and you can walk outside in the green landscape, sit under the trees, or admire the Swan Lake or the river, where our land lies.

We only have 6 rooms, ensuring our guests privacy and tranquility.

Buffet Breakfast, which have earned praise from those who have visited us, are served in the dining room overlooking the garden, or near a small fountain outside.

Lunch and dinner is served in a very homely manner. The wood fire and food take hours to prepare as it is done with utmost care and therefore if you would like to be served please make the request 24 hours in advance.

Sierra Peneda, Geres, a great place for hiking and discovery for those who love nature and this type of activity. Known for its breathtaking scenery and the wildlife that live here, some of them characteristic of this region, is a missed waypoint for those who want to spend some good times and take some nice souvenir photos.

You can take a cruise for a day (or more) by the river Douro, a region of the famous Port wine and considered a World Heritage.

Numerous beaches on the north coast of Portugal, as the beach of Espoo, Apulia, Loving, Povoa do Varzim and Vila do Conde. Beaches to relax, discover and enjoy water sports such as surfing, bodyboarding, windsurfing, and kitsurf Kaiak.

If you arrive in the morning in some of these beaches, as is the case of Apulia, may attend the show only the arrival of fishing boats and almost immediate auction of the fish still jumping.

Estela Golf Course, the sea and golf course Espoo, on the River Cávado, the perfect place for lovers of this sport. Inside, in Ponte de Lima, and also has a beautiful new golf course.

• Barcelos 
  characterized by the famous Cock of Barcelos which is also an icon and the brand image of Portugal abroad. With its stories and legends, through the charismatic and popular weekly market, medieval churches very rich in history as the Mother of the Lord and the Church of the Cross.
• Porto 
  a city of monuments and remarkable places that should not miss such as the Port Wine Cellars, Bridge D. Luis, the Tower of the Clerics, the Avenida da Liberdade, Crystal Palace, etc..
• Póvoa de Varzim 
  Casino da Povoa Vazim is one of the places you can visit at night to enjoy a fine dinner and dancing until dawn. ...
• Spain 
  63 km to Tuy, Vigo, La Guardia, Bayona y El Grove, all suggestions to spend a different day, delighting in the finest seafood in Spain.
