Beautiful posada in quiet village

Casa Velarde is a superbly restored posada, steeped in history, located in a quiet village within easy access of Cantabrian tourist spots, such as Santillana del Mar, Altimira caves, Comillas and the Picos de Europa. Friendly and obliging hostess (with limited English). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and happily recommend this delightful posada to other travellors, especially those who want to be able to withdraw from the maddening crowd.

Lovely, historic house. Guests not welcome.

We can find no fault with appearance, setting or physical accomodations. However,Two items necessary: 1) Manners. 2) A pencil. Suggestions: A business requiring reservations is required to write them down. And, we suggest a hospitality business should hire someone who can pretend hospitality. If guests are resented for showing up, or for being tourists, why have a posada?
