We spent a wonderful three days in Camino Condal. The rooms are lovely, there's a large lounge, and a huge and varied breakfast is served in the conservatory. But best of all were the walks that Josean planned for us (and explained with endless patience, our Spanish being rather limited). He even dropped us off at the start of the first walk, so we could do the ridge walk back to Ona, enjoying the views over the country on both sides, and watching the eagles, vultures and buzzards overhead.

To all British people: if you want to know the REAL SPAIN(!!), go to Camino Condal Rural House in Oña, Burgos, Spain. The village is beautiful, the people very friendly, the monastery is a dream, as is the history of the place. Inma & Jose, the owners of the rural house, are wonderful people, the rooms are lovely and the breakfasts served are out of this world. We strongly recommend it!

Interesting places

  • Oña
This rural house is located in the town of Oña. It is a wonderful medieval place where you can find the ”Monasterio de San Salvador” (Saint Salvador’s Monastery), which is a key element about the origin of the Old Castile. Oña also stands out because of the “Iglesia de San Salvador” (Saint Salvador’s Church) and its cloister. The lovely towns of Frias and Poza de la Sal are situated a few kilometres far from it. These towns together with Oña make the "Raíces de Castilla" (Roots of Castile) tourist route.
